Background

Roxanne Price is the alumni relations manager in the Office of Alumni and External Relations at the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management. Price plans and manages the college’s signature events while fostering alumni relationships and currently teaches the HTMT wedding planning course as an adjunct instructor.

With nearly three decades of experience, Price has a passion for bringing events to life and recently attained Project Management Professional^® certification to broaden her planning skillset. She also serves the college as an adjunct instructor in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, having taught convention and meeting planning and currently teaching wedding planning and management. Her courses provide real-world experience and exposure to the events industry, covering topics such as client and vendor relations, building an event business, cultural and social foundations and day-of-event execution.

An accomplished event planner and marketing communications professional, Price has been honored with consecutive Couples’ Choice Awards by WeddingWire, an InShow award from American Institute of Graphic Arts SC, and American Advertising Federation Addy awards throughout her career. She served two years as the Association of Bridal Consultants South Carolina State manager and earned Professional Wedding Planner designation. Price’s previous work as communications manager for the National Association for Campus Activities led to the publishing of USC’s Involvement in Campus Activities and the Retention of First-Year College Students, in which she served as editor.

Prior to joining the College of HRSM, Price served the University of South Carolina’s Pastides Alumni Center and was the owner, lead planner and designer of a boutique wedding planning business. She is originally from Arkansas, moved to Columbia in 1992, and later met her husband, Lee. She loves cooking, reading and traveling, especially with the couple's daughter, Sara, and enjoys spending time with cats, Mr. Bond and Ms. Moneypenny.
