Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award

Awarded to graduate students who have shown themselves to be exceptional graduate instructors or instructional assistants.

2022 Winners

  • Mariah Moran, Instructor of Record, Social Work
  • Ekaterina Rojas-Kolomiets, Graduate Teaching Assistant, Geological Sciences

The Award

Two $1,000 awards given annually. Instructors of record and GTA/Lab Instructors are eligible. There will be one award from the follow academic disciplines:

  • Humanities, Social Sciences, Education or Related Professional Programs
  • Science, Mathematics or Related Professional Programs 

Instructor of Record Nominations

As part of the 2023 nomination packet, Graduate Directors will be required to submit:

  • Teaching evaluations from Spring 2022 and/or Fall 2022 semesters
  • One-page teaching philosophy

GTA/Lab Instructor Nominations

As part of the 2023 nomination packet, Graduate Directors will be required to submit:

  • One-page teaching philosophy
  • One-page letter from a faculty member who can evaluate the nominee’s teaching
  • Student evaluations are optional

Multiple Nominees

Programs may only nominate up to two candidates.
