There are three ways to earn a B.S. degree in our department: by majoring in chemistry, by fulfilling the more rigorous ACS certification requirements or by majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology. The course requirements can be readily met in four years, and even sooner with the right Advanced Placement (AP) credits.
A B.S. degree (with a major in chemistry) from our department has a strong emphasis on coursework in chemistry, physics and mathematics. But, classes in humanities, the arts or any of your other interests will make the degree truly your own.
Our B.S. Chemistry degree fulfills all of the requirements for a degree certified by the American Chemical Society, one of the largest and most respected professional scientific organizations in the world. With this degree, you take specific academic research courses, and earn an ACS certification with your degree.
